So in my recent recovery - I was inspired to write a song and gift it to my surgeon.  It was when I was finally feeling back to normal (YEAH!) and no I was not taking any medications :-)

Twelve Layers of Isthmus

For the twelve layers of isthmus,

My patient thanked me for:

Twelve email exchanges,

Eleven sutures healing,

Ten filled prescriptions,

Nine weeks without working,

Eight clinic meetings,

Seven intern evals,

Six incisional openings

Five Diag-Nos-Tic tests,

Four general surgies,

Three nerve blocks,

Two inpatient stays,

And a patient that's finally Pain free!
